Details of Endoscopic Spine Surgery
This minimally invasive procedure allows a tube the size of a pencil to be inserted into the spine through an incision the size of a fingernail. The muscles are not cut or torn but pushed to the side to allow this small tube to enter the spine.
A high definition camera is passed thru the tube and allows our team to see a clear picture of the spine and damaged areas. This tiny opening creates access into the spine to remove herniated discs (discectomy) and/or ablate pain nerves (rhizotomy) under direct view. Many patients have immediate pain relief.
*If a patient is a candidate for endoscopic spine surgery, the appropriate surgery will the discussed in detail and each patient is educated on what to expect.
