Fasciotomy and Surgical Tenotomy

FAST™ Technique — Fasciotomy and Surgical Tenotomy— is an innovative, gentle method for percutaneous cutting and removal of tissue and restoration of natural tendon and soft tissue function. The FAST Technique utilizing the TX1™ Tissue Removal System can be used to address the most common areas for tendon and soft tissue injuries including:

  • Lateral and medial epicondyle
  • Patellar tendon
  • Rotator cuff
  • Plantar fascia
  • Achilles tendon

Based on technology developed in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, FAST combines conventional ultrasonic imaging for visualization with the advanced TX1 Tissue Removal System.

Tendon treatment

The TX1 MicroTip simultaneously cuts and debrides diseased tendon or other soft tissue in various musculoskeletal structures. This video demonstrates the removal of pathologic tissue in the lateral epicondyle of the elbow.

Tenex Health TXTM as a solution for Chronic Tendon Disease or Tendinosis.

Pain and discomfort to an affected tendon for approximately 3 months or more is when tendonitis becomes Chronic Tendon Disease, medically known as tendinosis, and at this point should be treated differently.

Chronic Tendon Disease can happen to any tendon and is most commonly located in the shoulders, lateral and medial epicondyles, patellar tendons, Achilles tendons, and plantar fascia.

What is Chronic Tendon Disease or Tendinosis?

Tenex Health TXTM is a minimally invasive procedure that provides relief for chronic tendon pain with a one-time* ultrasonic treatment.

It allows you to identify and specifically cut and remove diseased, pain-generating soft tissue, leaving healthy tissue undisturbed while stimulating a healing response in tendons and other musculoskeletal structures.

Unlike conventional interventions that require open surgery, Tenex Health TX does what traditional treatments can’t. With this system, our specialists use a needle to do the work in replace of a scalpel.

How would you describe Chronic Tendon Pain?

The pain might feel like burning, or cutting, stabbing or walking on shards of sharp, broken glass. This discouraging part is the Chronic Tendon Pain can get worse with time and activity.

Can repetitive motions create micro tears in tendons?

Yes! Repetitive motions, no matter how ordinary, can cause small micro tears that occur each time you use your tendon. When you do the same activities persistently, the micro tears do not have time to heal properly, causing injury.

  • Walking constantly or standing for long periods can cause knee, ankle or heel pain.
  • Everyday cleaning, including sweeping, vacuuming and mopping that require repetitive motions can cause pain.
  • Typing or texting.
  • Running and various types of exercise and physical activity can create micro tears and lead to tendonosis.
