Step 1 of 10

Peripheral Neuropathy

This painful condition results from damage to the peripheral nervous system – the nerves that travel from the spinal cord to the limbs and organs. The fragile nervous system can be damaged by disease, trauma, surgery or many other factors. Damaged nerves can send confused or amplifies signals to the brain, which can be perceived as pain. Most neuralgia sufferers feel acute pan in a specific part of the body. Sensations can range from a steady burning to a pricking or electrical shock.

Treatments of injections medicine and regenerative medicine can help relieve the symptoms and promote natural healing within the body, thus allowing the blood flow and nutrition needed to repair. Our pain doctors and team will create a neuropathy program to ensure that we are taking the best care of our patients with the best possible outcomes.

Diabetic Neuropathy

Diabetic neuropathy is nerve damage caused by diabetes. It can occur anywhere in the body, but the most common areas are the feet, toes, hands and arms. Diabetic neuropathy of the feet is caused by high blood glucose levels, which can damage blood vessels and nerves over time. Other factors can contribute to diabetic neuropathy of the feet, including the duration of diabetes, high levels of blood fat and low insulin levels. Diabetic neuropathy of the feet is also called peripheral neuropathy, distal symmetric neuropathy and sensorimotor neuropathy.

Patients with neuropathy understand that it takes a caring physician to treat the pain and symptoms associated with neuropathy.

With the advancements in medicine, our pain specialists and treatment center utilize Spinal Cord Stimulators, also known as Neurostimulation therapy in some cases to provide relief for neuropathy as well as injection medication.

We also provide regenerative medicine treatments to help address the symptoms associated with neuropathy to give the body the blood flow and nutritions needed to heal. Once again, our pain doctors and team will create a neuropathy program to help our patients understand what options they have and what the best possible treatment will be for their overall health and healing.
